Temporary residence permit in Montenegro (privremeni boravak) in accordance with Article 35 of the Aliens Act may be issued to a foreign citizen on one of the following grounds:

– document on personal income based on work;
– a document on the ownership of real estate in Montenegro, on the basis of which it is possible to provide for a livelihood;
– an application whereby a natural or legal person undertakes to bear the costs of the stay of an alien in Montenegro;
– document on the right of ownership of a dwelling,
– The concluded lease of a dwelling premise,
– a written application of the person from whom the foreigner has been provided with housing,
– a certificate of accommodation through a business entity or an entrepreneur registered for the provision of accommodation services.
In the absence of a foreigner’s own living quarters, additionally a certificate of ownership (list nepokretnosti) of the person providing the premises to the alien is also presented;
When applying for the receipt (and extension) of a temporary residence permit, foreigners periodically collect biometric data (photograph, fingerprint, signature).
The certificate is proof of the alien’s legal residence in Montenegro until a final decision on the request is made.
